Hope
Rain strikes the pavement and puddles in an endless dance
The moon shines as a silver disc with it's eternal romance
Up above, in heaven's keep
As the angels have gone to sleep
As I sit and reach towards jeweled stars in the sky
I alone in the night, I alone wonder why
What if the stars refuse to shine?
Is heaven truly so devine?
What is beyond this meager life?
Is there nothing more then blood on the knife?
Darkness crosses the land, darkest before dawn
Rays of light from the east are sketched, are drawn
But the sun does not beat back the night within my heart
For so many the light is hope, and we are apart
